Deep cleaning vs. regular cleaning: which one does your home need?

4 min read

Both leave your home clean. The difference is how much has built up since the last time someone cleaned it properly.

What a regular cleaning covers

A regular cleaning keeps a clean home clean. It is the visit you schedule weekly, every two weeks or once a month:

  • Dusting of the surfaces you can reach
  • Sweeping, mopping and vacuuming
  • Bathrooms cleaned and sanitized
  • Kitchen counters, sink and the outside of appliances

At Bright & Easy it usually takes 2 to 3 hours and starts at $150.

What a deep cleaning adds

A deep cleaning goes after what a regular visit does not have time for: baseboards, hard-to-reach corners, grease on the stove area, soap scum in the shower and dust that settled on top of things. It usually takes 3 to 5 hours and starts at $275.

How to choose

  • Pick a deep clean if nobody has cleaned the home professionally in the last couple of months, after a busy season with guests, or before you start a recurring plan.
  • Pick a regular clean if the home is already in good shape and you want to keep it that way.

Many clients start with one deep clean and then move to regular visits. That way every regular visit is spent keeping the home fresh instead of catching up.

Extras that make a difference

Inside the oven, the fridge and the kitchen cabinets are not part of either service by default. You can add them to any cleaning: $50 for the oven, $60 for the fridge and $60 for the cabinets.
